We can start with an Assessment of your current Business Continuity Plan.

This review includes an audit, review, and testing of the business, continuity of operations, and mission assessment of any existing BCP's.

• Using worldwide standards and industry best practices, this offering establishes individual component ratings culminating in an overall BCP scored report.
• Recommendations are provided for areas of required improvement, e.g., BCP testing, monitoring, and re-certification of the program.

If you have no Plan and need to start from the beginning the next phase would be the Business Impact Analysis (BIA).

A BIA is a methodical review process for analyzing the impact of interruptions on the daily operations of a business or entity.

• Identifies the impacts resulting from business interruption that can affect the organization.
• Defines how long the business could survive without those processes running.
• Identifies time-critical functions, their recovery priorities, and interdependencies so that the Recovery Time Objective (RTO) can be established and approved.
• Supports the effective restoration and recovery procedures and strategies to be developed.
• A pre-requisite to any effective Business Continuity Plan.

The next step is the Business Continuity Plan Development / Support

• The BCP support service enables companies to develop a robust business continuity plan utilizing a third-party electronic database of their choosing. 
• CGI uses findings from the BIA project (e.g., key business processes, alternatives, interdependencies, operating and production metrics, downtime values, restoration and recovery metrics, BCP procedures, etc.) to assist companies in the development of a robust BCP.

Sections of the plan will include but not be limited to:

• Identified critical business restoration and recovery procedures.
• Vendor contact list information.
• Communication plan development.
• Employee contact list information.
• Key interdependent operations and links for notification of actions to be taken.
• Integration of the emergency action, communications and disaster recovery plans.
• Conduct final review on the BCP

The final phase is Testing and Facilitation of the BCP.

• This selection is essential for ensuring that the plan is current, fully functional, and addresses current and/or updated operational processes and procedures.
• We can develop testing protocols for an existing BCP.
• This includes the facilitation of BCP testing exercises with the client’s BCP Team.
• We can assist in adjusting the BCP to address deficiencies, changes in the scope of the business, or any emerging risks.
• Ensure that the staff has a good understanding of responsibilities as defined in the BCP.
